we pick you up when you arrive and take you to a
bed and breakfast, a hotel, or a local hostel.
Time permitting, we will take
you on a short, informative
walking tour where we will be happy
to answer your questions, share
insight and prepare you for your journey.
On the day you are
scheduled to continue your travels, we will take you to your bus
or shuttle

HomeBase Options
Our packages are designed
to meet your lodging requirements and your budget:
Tica Charm
Tica Charm
includes a stay in a classic Bed and Breakfast
decorated with local antiques. After a good
night's rest, you will enjoy a typical Tica
breakfast that includes fresh tropical fruit,
delicious juice, gallo pinto, and Costa Rican
coffee.
We will then take you to your
bus, a shuttle or our
Private Transfer.
On your return, you will stay at the same B&B.
If you wish,
on your last evening in Costa Rica, we
will arrange transportation to El Mirador, a
restaurant high above the city of Alajeula, where
you will enjoy dinner and
a scenic view of the central valley.
The next
morning, we will
take you to the airport in time for your
scheduled departure.
Our Tica Charm is
ideal for a
Private
Transfer. We pick you up -- at a time that
suits you -- after a good
night's sleep and a tropical breakfast. To get
the most out of your journey when the day is
done, we will take the scenic route to
your destination, stopping at
points of interest along the way. If
you are interested in a Private Driver, we will put together a HomeBase /Private Transfer package
tailored to meet your needs.
With 'The Basics'
you will enjoy first and last nights' lodging at
a safe, clean, family-operated hotel located in
downtown Alajuela. It is conveniently located
near restaurants, banks, markets, and
neighborhood bars. You will enjoy the
convenience of Alajuela, located 5
minutes from the airport and on the road to many
of Costa Rica's popular tourist destinations.
Your stay includes a private
bath, free internet access and a tropical
breakfast.
Bus tickets and
transportation to a local bus stop are also part
of this option.
On the day of your departure
from Costa Rica, we will take you to the airport
just 5 minutes away
If you are
looking for a place to Just Flop, this option is
for you. We will book a room at a hostel located
near the center of town and a safe walking
distance to internet cafes, ATM's and
inexpensive restaurants.
We will purchase your
bus tickets in advance, take you to a local bus
stop and stay with you until you board your bus.
At the end of
your trip, you will return to the same hostel,
and we will take you to the airport the
following day.

If time allows, we will
take you on a short walking tour familiarizing you
with the local surroundings, sharing insight and getting you ready to
travel. We:

for a favorable exchange rate
point out local bars
and restaurants where you can enjoy a delicious
Costa Rican meal or a
cold one with locals
visit the
market (local mercado) where you will learn more about
seasonal tropical fruits and enjoy a natural fruit juice

'n Go

great idea. After traveling all night and facing
a 5 hour wait from all we read we dreaded the thought
of just sitting in a San Jose bus station with all of
